PPG Committee (Patient Participation Group Committee)

The PPG Committee is a group of patients who are willing to contribute some of their time to the development of the practice and its health services.  The group meets every two months to discuss items of mutual interest to the practice and patients.

Paul Drury BA (Hons)

I served in the Royal Air Force as a firefighter for 29 years. Following my service, I began my civilian career in 2003 working in community engagement.

I am currently employed as the Lincolnshire Armed Forces Covenant Officer, working across both civilian and armed forces communities to raise awareness and strengthen the impact of the Covenant.

As a resident of Bracebridge Heath, I am also proud to serve as Chair of Governors at St John’s Primary Academy, supporting the development and success of local education.

I am a former military wife of 21 years and have proudly called Bracebridge Heath home since 2011. I run a local business and also teach at Lincoln College, combining practical experience with a passion for education.

I became a member of the Patient Participation Group (PPG) in 2014 and currently serve as Vice Chair. Since 2019, I have been honoured to represent the community as a District Councillor, and I am an active member of the Bracebridge Heath Events Group.

I have two children who were educated locally before going on to study at the University of Lincoln, and I am now a proud grandmother. In my spare time, I enjoy gardening, keeping fit at the gym, reading, and spending quality time with my granddaughter.

Hi, I’m Nicky. I joined the Patient Participation Group (PPG) Committee in September 2025 and currently serve as Secretary. I have been a resident of Bracebridge Heath for the past 14 years.

I spent 25 years working in Early Years Education, including 15 years as the manager of a private day nursery. I now work in the Housing Department at North Kesteven District Council.

In my spare time, I enjoy walking and regularly spend my evenings at the gym. I am also a passionate supporter of Lincoln City Football Club and have been a season ticket holder for the past eight years. I love following the Imps both at home at Sincil Bank and on away days across the country.

After leaving school in 1972, I became a Cadet Nurse, primarily training in readiness for becoming a Pupil Nurse at 18.  However, at 19, I had a change of heart and decided to join the Women’s Royal Air Force (WRAF). I trained in Communications to become a Communications Operator. I served 5 years in the RAF and during this time, I was initially stationed at RAF Uxbridge where I was mainly employed with periods at MOD. I was then posted to RAF Germany where I worked in comms for 1 year. This is when I left the RAF on marriage.

During my time at RAF Uxbridge, I met John. He was posted to Cyprus in 77 and I joined him in September 77 where we got married.  We left Cyprus in 80 and was posted back to the UK. From then on to AFCENT in Holland for a year where John received the MBE and then on to RAF Germany where we stayed for 14 years.  John was an MOD RAF Officer during this time.   We then moved to Bracebridge Heath.  I commenced work at RAF Cranwell Air Warfare Centre for one year then changed my job to the NHS at Cross o’Cliff Court where I continued to work for 22 years.  My role was the Manager of the Patient Referral Team who contacted patients to offer them the choice of hospital they would like to attend and offer them help and advice in their choice.

As a resident of Bracebridge Heath, I joined the PPG where I am currently Treasurer.

I have also joined the Committee of the U3A (University of the Third Age) as the Deputy Membership Member, a task I really enjoy.  Keeps me active as I have been all my life and well-travelled.

Hello, I’m one of the newest members of the Patient Participation Group (PPG) and have been living in Bracebridge Heath since April 2024.

My career has primarily focused on stakeholder engagement and customer service, following over 10 years working in recruitment. I’m passionate about building positive relationships and supporting communities.

Outside of work, I enjoy baking, reading, and spending time with my two cats—hence my self-confessed title as a “crazy cat lady”!

I’m excited to be part of the PPG and to contribute to shaping it in a way that benefits residents, the wider community, and everyone connected with the surgery. If you see me out and about, please do come and say hello!

Hi, I’m Judy. I joined the Patient Participation Group (PPG) committee in 2025 and have taken on the role of Engagement, helping to strengthen connections between the practice and the local community.

I am also an active member of the village Events Group, where we help organise popular community events such as the Easter Egg Hunt and the Scarecrow Trail.

Previously, I worked for Lincolnshire Co-op as a Category Manager for Local Products, a role that involved working closely with many of Lincolnshire’s local producers. Alongside this, I support my community through voluntary work with the Food Bank and at St Peter’s Church in Doddington.

Outside of my volunteer work, I enjoy spending time outdoors with my two dogs, often going on long walks and adventures—Norfolk being one of our favourite destinations.

My husband and I have been season ticket holders at Lincoln City for many years, and we love attending home matches as well as the occasional away game.
